Accommodations
We narrowed it downed to The Landmark Resort. Thanks to Dawn and John for scouting out the good location for us!
We secured a block of rooms in the same wing of the Charthouse building under “DuTri St. Cloud” at the rates listed below. This is at The Landmark Resort in Egg Harbor (www.thelandmarkresort.com) for the Door County Triathlon July 21-22.  All rooms have a full kitchen and a pullout sleeper sofa in the living room. Most rooms have king beds in the bedrooms and one of the 2 bedroom/2 bath units has twin beds in one of the bedrooms.  There are great commons areas for meals or meetings within the Charthouse building. The Charthouse building is connected to the indoor pool and hot tub and also has an outdoor pool as well. There is also a block of rooms reserved for the Door County Triathlon as well (same rates) so if you are not finding what you want under our block of rooms, you can book under this block as well. There are many different room combinations and multiple buildings on the property so you can choose to stay as close or as far away from the block as you want
1 King bedroom suites:         $159 per night (Friday and Saturday) $124 per night on Sunday.  Maximum 4 people with 2 in BR and 2 on pullout coach.
2 bedroom/1 bath suites:Â Â Â Â Â Â Â $190 per night (Friday and Saturday) $151 per night on Sunday. Maximum 6 people with 4 in BRs and 2 on pullout coach.

We could fit more people if anyone is interested sharing the room.
The rooms will be released 45 days from the event. The reservations phone number is 1-800-273-7877.
Feel free to forward and share the information with fellow triathletes.

Graniteman Triathlon St Cloud
Had a great question from a local St. Cloud triathlete about the water quality in Lake George. Figured I would pass this along for those interested or concerned. Here is my answer to his question.. “The city of St. Cloud and the park and rec dept. have improved the water quality over the years with increased water fl…ow and shore improvements. It has been safe to swim in for years now, but due to liability reasons, the city ordinance still doesn’t allow swimming in it. However, it has been deemed perfectly safe and clean enough to swim in by the city and the rec dept who oversee the lake. The average depth is 17′ with the deepest spot being somewhere around 35′, so it actually is not the shallow mucky lake that it has been thought of by some for years. I scouted it carefully, did the research on history, and talked with other trusted open water swimmers and I think that it will be a great swim venue!”
Thanks!

Swim Clinic at YMCA
Hello Masters swimmers and Tri-athletes,
As many of you already know, Peter Vanderkaay will be in St Cloud this Thursday for a clinic at the YMCA. Peter is a 2 time Olympian, an Olympic gold medalist, and a front runner for the 2012 Olympic team in the middle distance freestyle events (200 meter, 400 meter, and 1,500 meter events) This is a clinic for all ages and all abilities. In addition to demonstrating drills and technique, Peter and the YMCA coaches will spend time in the pool with swimmers as the swimmers work on drills (the first 2 hours). Peter will give a talk on the preparing for championship events, as well as swimming at the Olympics (the last hour). Finally, there will be a chance for questions and answers (part of the last hour). He will have one of his Olympic Gold medals with him. It’s a pretty cool opportunity to learn from one of the best.
Because of the Heath Partners sponsorship the price of the clinic is now $30 for everyone (members and non-members).

Free Treadmill
I am an old treadmill and I long for a new home. I am free, all you have to do is take me with your pick-up truck. I incline, I go 10MPH, but I am old and come with no guarantees. Call Mike at 320-267-2194 if you will take me for your next indoor run. Mike M
